About the role

As an Apprentice & Planning Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the Safety Technical Competency (STC) framework and ensuring apprentices across the region receive a structured, professional, and impactful experience. This role bridges the gap between training providers, line managers, and internal teams to ensure technical training and apprentice development align with organisational goals.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate with apprentice line managers to ensure apprentices gain relevant experience aligned with their apprenticeship pathways.
• Coordinate and schedule technical training in line with the annual learning plan.
• Identify and communicate additional training needs to the central training team.
• Work with planning teams to align training schedules with operational and project requirements.
• Support apprentices in achieving their first post role by ensuring they complete all required training and assessments.
• Organise and maintain safe, fit-for-purpose practical training environments.
• Manage communications with apprentices and line managers, including tracking apprentice locations and progress.
• Support Early Careers attraction and recruitment activities such as careers fairs and assessment centres.
• Arrange accommodation and travel for learners and trainers.
• Host local apprenticeship welcome and quarterly feedback meetings.
• Act as a point of contact for system support and equipment needs related to apprenticeships.
• Escalate issues with training providers to the Early Careers Specialist and central technical training team.

You'll have strong communication and stakeholder management skills which will enable you to build effective relationships across teams. You'll be adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrive in a role where you can make a tangible impact on people's learning journeys and career progression.

Key requirements & experience

• Proven planning experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in customer and stakeholder management
• Technical knowledge of work types to ensure apprentices and technicians gain relevant, competency-building experience
• Experience in safeguarding or leadership roles - desirable
