OT Cyber Technician - West England and Wales - £41,265 to £48,547 + Company Van

The Operations team maintain, repair and upgrade 7,666km of high-pressure pipe, 23 compressor stations, 504 above-ground installations, and 8 connected distribution networks through a highly skilled team of over 600 technicians and engineers across Great Britain. Working around the clock to maintain and enhance the infrastructure that powers homes, business and industries, guaranteeing a steady and secure energy supply.

About the role

Are you a skilled Control, Instrumentation or Electrical Technician, with a passion for cyber security? If so, this could be the role for you!
 
In this new role, you will have a fantastic opportunity to grow your existing technical skills, by providing technical support and assurance. Delivering and assuring engineering and asset solutions for activities associated with Operational Technologies (OT) and cyber disciplines.

 

You’ll be supporting with the operation and maintenance of our Above Ground Installations (AGI’s) and Compressor Stations, which include aeroderivative gas turbine machinery trains, centrifugal compressors and associated plant and equipment.
 
These activities are associated with a range of asset technologies and disciplines, Turbine Control and Protection Systems, Gas Quality and Metering Systems, Fire and Gas, Telemetry, General Instrumentation and Control including Functional Safety Lifecycle Management and Human Factors support. 
 
One aspect of this role will require you to undertake malware sweeps and software backups on Compressor and AGI cyber assets, in accordance with relevant policy/procedures. All whilst maintaining accurate cyber records of maintenance, asset, operational and safe system of work for all work activities and operations undertaken, to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements.
 
You will support the delivery of our cyber capital project works by being a part of and supporting the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system, to ensure it is protected and maintained to the highest possible standards. 
 
You will work on the first line cyber assurance, ensuring asset management registers, back up registers and business continuity plans are maintained and up to date. You will be trained up as first line response to a cyber incident, working with the Cyber Security Incident Response Team to recover assets.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will have completed a time served apprenticeship in either an Electrical, Control or Instrumentation discipline. You will be comfortable using a computer and it would be advantageous if you have you IEC 62443, IC33, 34 and 37 or a Compex 1-4 and 18th edition wiring regs.

 

With a pre-allocated five-figure budget and a Cyber Officer to shadow, all training and support will be provided to help you make a transition to this new and exciting ‘cyber’ discipline. Where you will be on a daily basis will depend on your workload and the live projects you have. With that in mind you will need to have a full valid UK driving licence and you will have access to a fully funded liveried vehicle (with fuel card).
