Date: 18 Sep 2024

Location: GB

Company: National Gas

Senior Electrical Integrity Engineer - Remote with travel - £58,000 to £69,000

National Gas has an exciting and important role in net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. We will do this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today.

About the role:

We're looking for a chartered engineer to expand the integrity engineering team as part of this future.

The Senior Electrical Integrity Engineer role supports the whole voltage range: control & instrumentation, software/firmware, low voltage, high voltage and corrosion protection systems. You'll provide a focus for electrical integrity issues and queries and represent electrical integrity at meetings and workshops through the UK.

A key part of the role is reviewing management of change documentation, project documentation, inspection, and test documentation prior to build and commissioning. Some projects may be small, others very complicated and take years to complete. After you have demonstrated your professionalism and knowledge, you'll be given the responsibility to authorise and approve documentation, formally accept and close projects.

You'll ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislations i.e., EAWR, DSEAR, CDM etc., all relevant British Standards and accepted COP’s, National Gas Transmission policies and procedures within the electrical integrity environment, providing assurance of the integrity of the electrical & Instrument systems at the terminals, compressor stations and above ground installations around our very large UK wide gas network.

As a professional chartered engineer, you'd be expected to take full responsibility for your decisions, but confident enough to seek support from a competent team of colleagues who will form the team in which you work, and other teams within the business. You'll develop our internal processes to improve quality, efficiency and compliance, monitoring the performance of the integrity process.

You'll have honed your stakeholder management skills as you will need excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the business and with external contractors, regulatory bodies and peer organisations.

The role location is flexible but with an expectation to come to an office (mainly Warwick) for meetings or operational sites as required for the role, so you will need a current full UK driving licence.

What we're looking for:

    • High voltage electrical industrial plant systems
  • Incorporated or charted status
  • Full UK car driving licence
