Civil Engineer - Flexible location with travel - £45,000 to £54,000

About the role:

Are you a recent civil engineering graduate, ready to start your career in the fast-paced gas transmission business? We'll provide you with all the experience you need to work your way up to Senior Civil Engineer level and obtain your IEng or CEng status. 

 

As a Civil Engineer, you'll provide engineering input across the business on civil assets maintenance, inspection, construction and design, delivering key business as usual activities which may include arranging and reviewing civil asset condition reports.  

 

You'll conduct reviews of faults and defects related to civil assets determine whether investment needs-case are met whilst updating engineering specifications for the design, construction, and maintenance of civil assets on pipelines and installations.  

 

Working with the Senior Civil Engineers, you'll provide engineering input to operations, construction and asset strategies, and provide engineering justification to our asset management plans and asset strategies for civil assets. You’ll represent the business in external organisations and regulatory bodies (inc. UKOPA, the HSE and Ofgem) and set engineering policies to provide direction to the wider business, ensuring we meet industry standards and comply with legislation. 

 

Travel will be part of the job – we have a national portfolio. You'll travel to the Warwick office a couple of times a month as well as visiting other sites across the UK (exc. Ireland) as and when required with home working in-between. Therefore, it’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence. 

What we're looking for:

Essential -  

  • Hold a degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering 
  • Full UK car driving licence 

 

Desirable - 

  • Relevant engineering and industrial experience 
  • Working towards either IEng or CEng status 
  • Understanding of gas transmission assets 
  • An understanding of legislation requirements applicable to gas transmission
