Encompassing every facet of operational excellence - from new control rooms and resilient UPS systems to state-of-the-art control hardware and architecture, and renewed cabling - this initiative is redefining the standards for reliability, safety, security and innovation. Delivery Engineering provides visible, and high-quality project delivery support and assurance through operational excellence and best practices.
Aligning with Major Projects delivery teams, the team enhances the delivery of large infrastructure projects by driving greater safety and process safety assurance, process efficiency, a reduction in cost and time risk and promotes cross-team collaboration.
This function is rapidly evolving to set new industry benchmarks for project execution. Our focus is on empowering local engineering talent, streamlining decision-making, and driving operational brilliance across every stage of delivery.
New Molecules
The introduction of new molecules such as Hydrogen & CCS, will unlock a wealth of opportunities - creating fresh roles in design, safety, and regulatory compliance. These pioneering projects not only advance the UK's decarbonisation ambitions but also strengthen the security of supply as we move towards sustainable alternatives to methane.
Shaping Tomorrow's Energy Network: We are building the UK's hydrogen backbone through Project Union, with £128 million in FEED funding secured from Ofgem and a network spanning over 2,500km. The SCO2T Connect programme is repurposing pipelines for carbon capture and storage, supporting the nation's decarbonisation ambitions.
Land Rights and Consents
Land Rights and Consents secure the land and permissions needed to deliver critical energy infrastructure outside land we already own. Our teams support nationally significant projects that help deliver the UK's net zero and energy security ambitions.
In Consents, we secure the permissions that make major energy projects possible, balancing environmental, community and regulatory priorities. In Land Rights, we lead land assembly from survey access through to rights and acquisitions, working with thousands of landowners.
Across both areas, we protect delivery programmes and our reputation by securing consents and land efficiently, responsibly and in line with legislation.
