  • Making your CV stand out

     • Keep your CV clear, well‑structured, and easy to read. This will help us to quickly understand your journey so far.

     • If you’re not sure where to start, there are plenty of free templates online that can help you build something simple and effective.

     • Focus on the skills and experiences that are most relevant to the role you’re applying for.

     • Be sure to highlight your technical training as well as the people skills that show how you work and collaborate with others.

  • Your Cover Letter: Helping us get to know you

     • Your cover letter is your chance to bring your CV to life and show us what motivates you, which is why we ask everyone to include one when applying. It helps us get to know you better and understand why National Gas might be the best place for you to start your career.

     • We’d love to hear why you’re excited about joining National Gas, so don’t be shy about sharing what sparked your interest.

     • Try to connect your studies, experiences, or interests to the role you’re applying for. This will help us see how your strengths align with the programme you’ve applied for.

  • The Finishing Touch

     • Before you submit your application, take a moment to give everything a final check. Proofreading helps make sure your skills and experience come across clearly and shows us the care and effort you’ve put into your application.

     • Look out for spelling, grammar, and any small mistakes that might have slipped through. It’s also a great idea to ask someone you trust to read over your CV and cover letter, as a fresh pair of eyes can often spot things you might have missed.
