About the role
To support the delivery of capital projects to time, cost, specification and ensuring health, safety and environmental issues are managed throughout the process.
To support the project manager in delivering time, cost and specification and to facilitate regulatory objectives.
Why this role matters
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the PM delivering Mechanical and Civils projects in England and Wales. Typically this would entail the delivery of replacement, valves, pressure reduction and associated preheat or resolution of pipeline and coating defects. With large volumes of temporary works managed under CDM.
- Provide appropriate project support into the pre-sanction design process in Project Development, including review of the proposals for SHE management, project risks, deliverability, and safety performance
- Support Project Managers to develop, implement, and manage the project.
- Manage and co-ordinate contractors and project teams.
- Provide regular updates and project monthly status reports which will include SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and current and forecast financial performance.
- Work closely with Site Supervisor to report on the contractor performance.
- Actively develop self to achieve and maintain relevant authorisations for role within agreed timescales.
What you'll bring

Skills/experience:
- Basic knowledge of NEC Framework
- Relevant experience of project delivery and project team leadership skills
- Good influencing and negotiating skills
- Good communication skills
- Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality
- Relevant experience of Contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts
- Experience of construction for mechanical projects for steel pipelines and gas/utility site build or upgrade- desirable
- Previous experience in project management or a similar role - desirable

Qualifications:
- Work towards an APMP Qualification
- Work towards NEC 4 Accreditation
- HNC/HND level or equivalent in engineering or project management
- Experience in Gas Construction Industry, ideally supported by recognised training or qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial management - desirable
