Lead QA Engineer (Scotland & North region)

£55,500 to £65,500 + up to 6% bonus + company car*

Scotland & North region (Hubs: Aberdeen & Livingston)

Working pattern: Hybrid (on-site minimum 3 days a week)

Travel: Regular (within region inc. central hubs in Aberdeen & Livingston)

Location requirement: Based within the Scotland & North region and within a reasonable travelling distance of operational sites

Some flexibility for home working may be available, where appropriate.

About the role

Help ensure the safe, high-quality delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects.

As a Lead QA Engineer, you'll provide independent quality assurance and expert guidance across projects of varying size and complexity.

You'll influence delivery teams and contractors, lead audits and investigations, and drive improvements that have a lasting impact across the network.

What you'll be doing

• Provide independent quality assurance and expert guidance across projects of varying size and complexity
• Lead quality assurance audits
• Review and approve project quality, inspection and test plans
• Evaluate contractor competence and compliance
• Investigate non-conformances and identify corrective actions
• Support commissioning, operational and asset acceptance activities
• Ensure process safety and CDM requirements are met
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement

About you

You'll be an experienced engineer with a strong background in quality assurance, auditing and project delivery. You'll be confident influencing stakeholders, resolving technical issues and improving quality standards across complex projects.

Key requirements & experience

Essential

• HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Significant experience within mechanical, civils, and rotating machinery disciplines
• Incorporated Engineer status or working towards
• Experience in engineering quality assurance and auditing
• Knowledge of design, safety, environmental and quality standards
• Experience investigating non-conformances and root cause analysis
• Understanding of CDM and process safety requirements
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 27001)
• Experience within gas, energy or major infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of T/PM/G35 commissioning and asset acceptance processes
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
