About the role
You’ll lead value delivery and efficiency management across our East region, turning strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.
As our subject-matter expert, you’ll bring insight, challenge, and leadership to how we track value, improve performance, and build strong evidence for future investment and regulatory funding decisions
Why this role matters
The East region is a strategically important part of our Gas Transmission Network, spanning seven compressor stations, Bacton Gas Terminal, and key teams based in Peterborough.
This is an opportunity to influence how we make the most of our investment and resources across the region. You’ll help senior leaders understand where value is being delivered, where intervention is needed, and how we can continuously improve. Your insight will also help build the evidence behind future funding decisions, supporting the long-term performance of the region and the wider network.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the region’s approach to value delivery, efficiency, and strategic change
- Own the Strategic Change Tracker and establish a clear value-management rhythm
- Set benefit baselines, forecasts, evidence requirements, and review processes
- Challenge initiative owners on delivery, risk, blockers, benefits, and recovery plans
- Analyse cost drivers, unit costs, and efficiency trends to inform future funding discussions
- Provide clear reporting and recommendations to Programme Board, East Leadership Team, and senior stakeholders
- Build a strong evidence and lessons-learned base to improve future delivery and decision-making
What you'll bring
This role would suit someone who enjoys turning complex strategic priorities into practical action, asking the right questions, and using evidence to influence senior decisions.
Essential
- Strong experience in portfolio, performance, or change management
- Demonstrable expertise in value delivery, portfolio governance, strategic change, or performance management
- Ability to translate strategic initiatives into clear milestones, benefits, and evidence
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, with sound commercial judgement
- Confidence influencing and challenging senior stakeholders across complex, cross-functional work
- Experience producing concise executive reporting and clear recommendations
- A relevant degree or professional qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable
- Experience within regulated utilities or a comparable capital delivery environment
- Understanding of investment portfolios and regulatory funding
- Experience analysing cost drivers, unit costs, or efficiency performance
