SHE Compliance Manager – salary range £60,000 to £90,000 DOE plus benefits

Location: Aberdeen (or Livingston) with hybrid working

As SHE Compliance Manager, you will lead and enhance safety, health and environmental performance across the Scotland and North Region.

 

You will manage a team covering occupational safety, environment, process and project safety, providing expert guidance to support safe and compliant operations in a high-risk, high-pressure gas environment.

 

This role is critical in ensuring legal compliance, delivering first-line assurance, and driving a strong, proactive safety culture across all activities.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for SHE concerns for operational site-based personnel.
  • Provide expert technical and subject matter advice on SHE matters.
  • Identify and prioritise key focus areas for SHE support.
  • Implement and maintain a user-friendly, cross-regional SHE Management System.
  • Collaborate with other Regional SHE Compliance Managers to drive innovation and best practices.
  • Develop team capabilities to enhance SHE support across sites.
  • Provide support and guidance for site projects under CDM Regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support the Regional Leadership Team in SHE initiatives.
  • Participate in Regional SHE Governance, Process Safety Performance Forums, Compliance Frameworks and Environment & Sustainability Groups.
  • Maintain awareness of key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the SHE Management System.

About you

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Strategic leader with strong decision-making, problem-solving and stakeholder influence
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels internally and externally
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and empower high-performing teams
  • Strong SHE and CDM expertise, including Client and Principal Contractor roles within the gas or similar high-risk industry
  • Deep knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience driving SHE improvement initiatives and embedding best practice

 

Qualifications:

 

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CMIOSH) preferred
  • Full UK driving license
