About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects across the Scotland North region. Based at St Fergus, Livingston or Glasgow, you’ll take full ownership of a portfolio of high‑value projects that are critical to the UK gas network.
You’ll shape delivery strategies, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure every project meets strict standards for safety, quality, cost and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment, has strong stakeholder influence, and wants to make a meaningful impact on nationally significant infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee plans, schedules, risks, budgets and governance documentation.
- Report monthly on SHE performance, milestones, risks and financial forecasts.
- Ensure project designs and delivery solutions are efficient, innovative and fit for purpose.
- Build strong internal relationships, promoting collaboration and sharing best practice.
- Support community engagement for major schemes.
- Provide strong commercial oversight, ensuring accurate cost data, value engineering and robust contract management.
Key skills & experience
Leadership & Interpersonal
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary or devolved teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to promote a positive safety culture and high SHESQ standards.
- Skilled at managing and prioritising complex project portfolios.
Technical & Professional
- Significant project management experience in engineering, construction or infrastructure.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills, including forecasting and cost control.
- Experience identifying efficiency opportunities and value‑engineering costs.
- Familiarity with National Grid procedures (or similar regulated frameworks).
Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Chartered status in engineering or project/contract management, or equivalent experience.
- Valid UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- IOSH, NEBOSH or similar SHE qualifications.
- Professional body membership.
