About the role

As an Asset Lifecycle Engineer, you’ll be part of a team responsible for the engineering policy management of gas meters across the UK; residential, commercial, and industrial. You’ll use your skills and experience as an engineer to work with our service providers, ensuring robust safe asset portfolio. 
 

  • You will be a dynamic, adaptive, and resilient industry professional regarding Safety, Health and Environment with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the business and be curious with a 'can do' attitude.
  • You will be accountable for the development of asset management policies and procedures which govern of all metering assets to ensure a robust safe asset 
  • You will help shape the Asset Management System and use your engineering experience and expertise to further inform current and future asset policies and procedures
  • You will provide informed analysis of fault data, evaluate the findings, and make recommendations to ensure that prompt actions are taken to continually improve the management of our asset portfolio

  • You will be a strong team member and exceed the expectations of our people, customer, business, and key stakeholder relationships.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has experience in field-based work in the Gas Industry or associated industries, preferably in Domestic Gas Metering.
 

  • You will need to have knowledge and understanding of relevant Gas installation design standards and legislation, and policies applicable to Gas Metering installations. 
  • You will need to have knowledge of RCM and FMEA principles, reliability tools and metrics, and asset class strategies. 
  • You will have the ability to conduct engineering root cause analysis investigations. 
  • You will have the ability to write and review engineering policy and procedures, as well as experience in the timely, accurate and efficient preparation and management of engineering policies and procedures. 
  • You will have or be working towards IAM registration, IGEM registration or relevant equivalent. (IMechE, ICorr etc.) 
  • You must hold a valid full driving licence as Nationwide travel is required with this role.
  • This role may require you to participate in a Standby Rota to ensure the safety of operations.
