About the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your inspecting expertise in shaping the future of gas transmission at National Gas. We’re seeking a dedicated Welding Inspector to join us on a permanent basis within the gas industry. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of gas transmission projects, working alongside a skilled and passionate team in a dynamic and evolving environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensuring compliance across all welding and fabrication activities.
  • Advising on legal, regulatory, standard, and client requirements.
  • Inspecting and witnessing welds in line with relevant specifications.
  • Reviewing visual welding inspection reports
  • Liaising with our non-destructive testing (NDT) team..
  • Overseeing on-site welding, fabrication, and installation activities.
  • Verifying welding documentation and assisting in compiling lifetime quality records.
  • Ensuring all documentation meets legal, regulatory, and client standards.

About you

You'll be detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You'll bring excellent communication and collaboration skills, a methodical and analytical approach to inspection and compliance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and reliability will be key, especially when travelling or working away from home.

Key requirements & experience

  • BGAS/CSWIP Welding Inspector or PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector 
  • UT plate and MPA qualification - desirable
  • Full UK car driving licence

Security clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
