Technical Administrator – Ambergate Onsite - £31,745 to £37,347
National Gas has an exciting and important role in achieving net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. We will do this by developing tomorrow's green gas system, while delivering today's natural gas needs.
National Gas Services is Britain's trusted authority in pipeline repair, maintenance, and intervention. With our extensive expertise in both emergency and planned solutions, we ensure rapid 24-hour responses, 365 days a year - along with a full range of maintenance, inspection, and repair services.
About the role
Are you highly organised, proactive, and ready to make a real difference in a supportive, fast-paced environment?
We are looking for Technical Administrator with excellent organisational and time management skills who can confidently manage multiple priorities.
This role is crucial in providing robust administrative support by implementing and maintaining effective information systems. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between our Operations and Commercial teams, particularly in relation to technical information and system support.
Your contribution will help streamline our internal processes and support the delivery of projects to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
What You’ll need
In this role, you’ll support the Customer Operations Managers across the full project lifecycle from pre-construction to completion, by managing systems and handling technical documentation.
You’ll be organising meetings, booking rooms and facilities, and liaising with suppliers for material quotations and lead times. Your day-to-day tasks will include downloading and uploading project-related information into our job management systems, helping coordinate the allocation of NGS equipment, and supporting the preparation of RAMS for upcoming works.
Strong communication and collaboration skills will be essential, as you’ll be regularly working with colleagues across departments as well as with external contacts.
The role also involves managing and uploading project documents to platforms such as CRM/Control Hub, as well as supporting equipment allocation to projects in collaboration with the maintenance team.
To be successful, you’ll need to bring a high level of computer literacy, a solid understanding of business systems, and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
You will be working onsite in Ambergate 5 days a week.
If you have experience in the utilities industry, that’s a plus, but most important is your ability to stay organised, think ahead, and communicate clearly.
What we can offer you
- Annual bonus of 6% based on personal and company performance
- 26 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays - option available to buy extra or sell days
- Generous double-match pension scheme - for every £1 you put in, we'll add £2 (max company contribution 12%)
- Flexible benefit scheme, including private healthcare, dental insurance, technology plans and more
- Financial protection with 10x salary death in service and financial support if you're unable to work due to long term illness or injury
- Excellent family friendly provisions - maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave
- Career progression, professional training and development – including access to LinkedIn Learning
- Employee assistance programme offering free confidential professional counselling 24/7
- Financial support to help you cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions
