About the role
To manage the investment lifecycle for a region’s portfolio of capital investment projects, ensuring that projects are initiated, sponsored through delivery and closed out in the required timescales to deliver business strategy, regulatory requirements and operational priorities.
This role involves developing and assuring investment plans and engaging with key stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure investments deliver the required outputs, on time and within capital budgets.
What You’ll be doing:
- Manage the development and optimisation of medium and long-term investment plans (RIIO-GT3 and beyond) to achieve alignment with business and regulatory objectives.
- Manage sponsorship of investment projects through the investment lifecycle to ensure that projects are initiated, scoped, developed, executed and closed in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements.
- Manage changes to investment plans to respond to change, mitigate risk and achieve delivery of business and regulatory objectives.
- Work closely with key stakeholders across finance, central investment teams, regional delivery teams and major programmes to achieve alignment of investment decisions.
- Monitor and present regional investment portfolio performance, risks and recommendations to key stakeholders across the business.
- Manage the provision of regulatory reporting to the central portfolio investment team to describe outturn delivery performance and forecasting of future delivery performance
- Enforce consistent application of the investment planning approach set out by the central portfolio investment team to achieve a single view of the overall investment portfolio
- Lead and develop a high performing investment sponsor team, fostering a culture of strategic thinking and data driven decision making.

Key Requirements & Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Expertise in financial analysis, reporting and risk management
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience and working knowledge of utility network price controls i.e. RIIO
Desirable:
- Experience of investment portfolio management, capital planning or financial management with energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors
- Some experience of gas transmission assets or similar network infrastructure
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
