About the role

 

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Business Support Officer to join our West Region team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the Directorate by providing high-quality executive and business support to the Regional Director – West and their senior leadership team. You’ll be at the heart of strategic planning, performance coordination, communications, and cross-directorate initiatives.

What you'll be doing

 

  • Managing the Regional Director’s calendar, inbox, and priorities, coordinating key meetings, deadlines, and initiatives.
  • Acting as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional communication.
  • Supporting the Regional Director with presentations, speaker notes, and meeting materials.
  • Leading operational management of the West Region Hub to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Handling finance processes including raising purchase orders, preparing invoices, and submitting expenses.
  • Maintaining documentation such as risk registers, business continuity plans, and SharePoint sites.
  • Providing technical support for meetings, travel arrangements, and event logistics.
  • Monitoring inboxes and coordinating onboarding/offboarding processes for team members.

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting senior leaders or executives.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook 365 tools: Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently and flexibly in a dynamic environment.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience in project-based roles with a track record of meeting deadlines and objectives.
