About the Role
We’re looking for talented Chemical Engineers with strong technical expertise and interpersonal skills to help us operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably. In this role, you’ll apply your Chemical Engineering knowledge to ensure project designs are safe, rigorously assessed, and aligned with best practices.
You’ll work alongside a team of professionals while taking ownership of your own responsibilities. Your work will include participating in HAZOP and LOPA studies, collaborating with operations personnel to ensure asset safety and compliance, and investigating incidents to ensure lessons are learned. As a Process Safety authority, you’ll take a proactive technical leadership role, shaping safety policy and defining “Best Practice” standards across legislation, codes, and practices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow professionally with access to job-relevant training, while contributing to a safer, cleaner energy future. You can be based anywhere in West Region but must be willing to travel to our sites regularly for meetings and projects. Travel expenses will be covered.
What You'll Be Doing
- Applying Chemical Engineering expertise to assess and assure project safety.
- Leading and participating in HAZOP, LOPA, and other safety studies.
- Collaborating with operations teams to ensure asset integrity and compliance.
- Investigating incidents and implementing lessons learned.
- Providing technical leadership in Process Safety and shaping safety policy.
- Defining and promoting best practices across legislation, codes, and standards.
- Supporting the transition to hydrogen and carbon capture technologies.
About You
You are a technically skilled and solutions-focused Chemical Engineer with a passion for safety and sustainability. You thrive in collaborative environments and are confident working independently. Your ability to communicate effectively and influence across disciplines makes you a valuable contributor to complex projects.
Key Requirements & Experience
Essential:
Experience working in a technical environment.
Demonstrable technical ability in Chemical Engineering.
Proven problem-solving skills related to gas transmission asset design and operations.
Experience working independently and across multidisciplinary teams.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Experience within major accident hazard operations.
