About the role

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide subject matter expertise to our project teams, suppliers and stakeholders as we design, build and commission control and protection systems across our gas transmission network.

 

Day to day, you’ll collaborate with delivery teams and external partners to help shape the future of our systems, overcome technical challenges and drive continuous improvement. You’ll provide expert guidance and support, ensuring compliance with legislation, technical standards and quality requirements, while also identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification and standardisation.

 

You’ll bring strong Electrical expertise, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders. In return, we’ll invest in your development to keep you performing at your best while helping to deliver critical national infrastructure.

 

You'll spend on average 2–3 days of your working week travelling and working on sites/attending meetings across the West region of the UK, with a particular focus on covering the North of the West region, to support in the delivery of the projects, with home working in between. It would also be ideal if you could commute into our Bristol office from time to time. Therefore, it’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence.

What we're looking for

Essential - 

  • Hold a minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Experience in the design, build, commissioning, maintenance and operation of Industrial Automation & Control Systems on high hazard process plant
  • Full UK car driving licence

 

Desirable - 

  • Have a formal development plan in place to achieve incorporated and relevant chartered status
  • Member of a professional engineering institution and registered with the Engineering Council such as IEng or CEng
  • Experience with love voltage electrical equipment (or all) of the following relevant industry certifications:
    • Control & instrumentation expertise in a relevant process industry
    • Hazardous Areas - CompEx Ex01-04, Ex12a, Ex12b
