About the Role
As a Change Management Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all modifications to our assets are managed through a robust change process. You’ll be responsible for overseeing low and medium risk modifications within your region, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and security obligations. This is a strategic and autonomous position, working closely with a range of stakeholders to deliver safe and effective change.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing low and medium risk modifications in line with the National Gas Management of Change Policy.
- Providing technical and process advice to modification initiators.
- Ensuring the quality and scope of modification assessments are suitable and sufficient.
- Authorising work packs and commissioning activities within your area of competence.
- Collaborating with discipline engineers and referring higher-risk or complex changes to central teams.
- Monitoring and proactively closing out modifications, ensuring all actions and records are completed.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and mentor for regional teams on the change management process.
- Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, including HSE, designers, contractors, and operational teams.

Essential:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years’ experience in design or construction management.
- Strong knowledge of the National Transmission System (NTS), asset base, and operational processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamworking, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
- Proven problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach.
Desirable:
- Professional accreditation (Chartered, Incorporated, or working towards).
- Background in electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of change management processes.
- Experience in an operational or engineering capacity within the gas industry or other high-hazard environments.
