About the role

As an EC&I Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile construction projects. Your work will directly influence the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our stakeholders.

 

Embedded within a dynamic project delivery team, you’ll provide expert guidance on EC&I systems, ensuring our designs meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as the primary technical point of contact for EC&I design, offering clear guidance to project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Ensuring all design activities comply with relevant codes, policies, and standards.
  • Coordinating design deliverables and driving progress to meet critical project deadlines.
  • Managing data and documentation to maintain robust quality assurance processes.
  • Supporting procurement activities and preparing key documentation for tenders and awards.
  • Leading and participating in design reviews, risk assessments, and process safety workshops.
  • Collaborating with business teams to continuously improve policies, procedures, and specifications.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and natural collaborator, able to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels. You bring a strong commercial mindset, always seeking opportunities to optimise and innovate while maintaining compliance and quality.

Key requirements & experience

Essential:

  • Solid knowledge of EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) systems, including APC, DCS, PLC, and SCADA.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BS EN 61508, 61513 and 61511) alongside quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001).
  • Experience with CDM Regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Full UK driving licence.

 

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in Auditing, NEBOSH, Design Management, or CDM.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or similar health & safety qualifications.

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
