About Role

As Portfolio Analyst, you'll play a critical role in supporting the planning, optimisation and delivery of a regional portfolio of infrastructure investment projects. You'll help ensure our investment programmes are effectively coordinated, resources are aligned, and outage and recompression plans are developed and maintained to support safe and efficient delivery.

Why This Role Matters

Effective portfolio planning is fundamental to delivering investment programmes safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory commitments. As Portfolio Analyst, you will provide the insight, governance and coordination needed to ensure projects are prioritised appropriately, constraints are identified early, and delivery remains optimised across the region.

Your work will support critical operational decisions, improve visibility of performance data, and help ensure that investment plans are achievable, aligned and deliver maximum value for the business and its customers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and analytical models to support commercial, portfolio, procurement and investment decision making
  • Collect, clean and validate data from multiple internal and external sources, including finance systems, procurement platforms and project controls tools
  • Provide insight into supplier performance, spend analysis, contract compliance and market trends to support procurement strategy
  • Work with QSs and the Investment Accountant to support forecasting, cost tracking and financial performance analysis
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics related to supply chain efficiency, procurement cycle times and cost benchmarks.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and reporting e.g. RIIO returns through accurate data collation and formatting
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues and implement improvements to data structures and governance
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests for commercial projects, supplier negotiations and investment planning

What You'll Bring

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a highly regulated operational environment, influencing positive safety behaviours and providing expert guidance to maintain the highest standards of compliance and performance.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large and complex data sets to support decision making.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency and good understanding of portfolio planning, project management, asset management or a similar planning-focused environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of planning processes, resource plans, portfolio governance and investment prioritisation principles.

Desirable
