About the role

Are you ready to lead the strategic planning of multi-million-pound investments that power the UK’s gas transmission network and keeps homes warm and industries running.

This role directly influences how we invest in and maintain our national infrastructure. Your decisions will help balance risk, capital allocation and regulatory compliance, ensuring we deliver value for customers and stakeholders alike.

As a Portfolio Planning Manager, you’ll lead the planning and optimisation of capital projects across your region. You’ll be the strategic force behind a dynamic investment portfolio, ensuring delivery is efficient, aligned with operational priorities, and meets performance targets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and managing short and long-term investment plans
• Collaborating with stakeholders to assess deliverability and manage constraints
• Optimising resource allocation and outage schedules
• Leading a high-performing planning team with a focus on strategic thinking and data-driven decisions
• Driving continuous improvement in investment, outage and cost management processes
• Monitoring performance through reporting, metrics and scorecards

What we are looking for

We’re seeking a confident and collaborative leader with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for infrastructure planning.

To be successful in this role, the skills and experiences you'll have are:

• Strong financial analysis, reporting and risk management capabilities
• Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Working knowledge of outage planning and as such familiarity with investment and outage planning systems
• Experience in a regulated sector such as the energy, utilities or infrastructure
