About the role

 

As our Project Completions Lead, you will be responsible for governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement of engineering drawings, BIM processes and modification completions across the Scotland & North region. 
Your leadership will directly influence the accuracy of our engineering documentation, compliance with industry standards, and successful delivery of low‑ and medium‑risk modifications. You’ll lead a team of BIM Analysts, Drawing Specialists and Document Controllers ensuring consistency, capability and a high standard of technical output.
 
A significant focus of the role is ownership of the G35 Management of Change process. You will receive full training to become an authorised G35 approver, giving you responsibility for reviewing, assuring and approving modifications in line with governance and safety requirements.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact leadership role where you’ll be expected to drive progress, unblock stalled work and make things happen.
 
Hybrid & Onsite Requirements:
This role requires a strong onsite presence to work effectively with engineering teams, document controllers and project stakeholders.

Minimum 3 days per week onsite at either: Livingston office, or Aberdeen office
 
This ensures close collaboration, rapid decision‑making and effective leadership of the team.


 
What You’ll Be Doing
 

  • Leading governance, assurance and improvement of engineering drawings, BIM workflows and digital asset information. 
  • Managing and coaching Document Controllers, BIM Analysts and Drawing Specialists, setting standards and driving performance. 
  • Taking ownership of the G35 Management of Change process for low‑ and medium‑risk modifications, including full training to become an authorised approver.
  • Ensuring all modification documentation, evidence, governance and commissioning records are complete, compliant and high‑quality.
  • Monitoring progress of modifications, identifying blockers and driving actions to completion. 
  • Safeguarding the accuracy and accessibility of engineering drawings and models within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Leading the shift from 2D to BIM/3D‑based design workflows and ensuring alignment with ISO 19650 standards. 
  • Challenging quality issues in drawings, BIM models and documentation especially when deadlines are tight.
  • Working with engineering SMEs, operational teams, construction partners and third‑party contractors to deliver safe and compliant outcomes.
  • Providing subject matter expertise across BIM, information management and change governance.

Key Requirements & Experience

 

  • Significant experience in engineering drawing management, BIM processes or digital engineering environments 
  • Experience leading document controllers or digital engineering teams
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650, information management and BIM standards
  • Proficiency with Autodesk or Bentley software (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MicroStation)
  • Experience with Management of Change processes (G35 training provided)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to resolve blockers, drive progress and operate with pace
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Digital Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • A leadership style that is proactive, assertive and solution‑focused
