The Operations team maintain, repair and upgrade 7,666km of high-pressure pipe, 23 compressor stations, 504 above-ground installations, and 8 connected distribution networks through a highly skilled team of over 600 technicians and engineers across Great Britain. Working around the clock to maintain and enhance the infrastructure that powers homes, business and industries, guaranteeing a steady and secure energy supply.
About the role

As a CompEx Electrical Technician you will travel to every AGI and Compressor Station in the East area to complete CompEx inspections on electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with BS60079.
This is a Monday to Friday role with your working week planned in advance, with you having a say where you go and when. A typical day for someone in this role would be a 07:30 start, check the van then it’s off to site. You will meet your colleague(s) at site and check in with NCC (Network Control Centre), you will then enter the site and gas test for leaks.
You will then begin your CompEx inspections and record the results on AIMS app on your company issued iPad, you can crack on with visual and close inspections but you will then check in with NCC prior to any detailed inspections.
You will normally take a break about 10:00, lunch about 12:30, then its checking out with NCC and setting off home or back to the hotel at about 16:00. If working away from home for overnight stays you will be entitled to additional allowances.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role you will have been a time served apprentice (NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) with your specialism being in Industrial Electrical (requirement) or Instrumentation (advantageous) Engineering having worked in accordance with CompEx 01-04.
You will ideally be up to date with your 18th edition wiring regulations, however if you have 17th edition we can put you through the latest version. You must hold a UK driving licence and be willing to travel the East of England with overnight stays as required.
