About the role:
We're looking for an EC&I Integrity Manager who will lead a team of engineering and quality assurance professionals specialising in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) disciplines, supporting project delivery across our gas transmission network. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of EC&I assets through strategic leadership, technical oversight, and rigorous compliance with statutory and quality standards.
You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing EC&I asset integrity strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and operational excellence. Your team will support the full project lifecycle - from defining technical scopes and reviewing design compliance, to overseeing factory and site inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of engineering discipline engineers and quality assurance engineers
- Leading technical reviews and approvals of project queries and design documentation
- Providing EC&I expertise in process safety assessments, environmental reviews, and quality assurance activities
- Managing the delivery and continuous improvement of the project Quality Management System
- Investigating non-conformances and embedding lessons learned to drive efficiency and innovation
- Supporting supplier and manufacturing quality assurance to uphold high standards across the supply chain
You’ll also mentor engineering and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, standardisation, and risk-based decision-making. Strong stakeholder management is essential, as you’ll collaborate with internal teams, regulators, and external service providers to ensure our EC&I integrity practices are robust, transparent, and future-focused.
Travel will be part of the job – we have a national portfolio. You'll travel to the Peterborough office a couple of times a week as well as visiting other sites across the East of the UK with home working in-between.
What we're looking for:
Essential -
- Degree (or equivalent) in an electrical/electronic, instrumentation or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Significant experience in E&I asset integrity management within the energy or utilities industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, standards and industry best practice (e.g. ATEX, IECEx, BS EN)
- Commercial acumen to drive value through design optimisation, simplification, innovation, and standardisation
- Experience in management of change in design approval and appraisal processes
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- Full UK car driving licence
Desirable -
- Experience of managing a team
- Chartered status with relevant professional body (or working towards)
- COMPEX certification
- Experience with gas transmission assets or similar critical national infrastructure
- Project delivery knowledge, skills, and experience, with some knowledge of ISO9001 and the application of quality management systems within project delivery
