Plus up to 6% bonus, overtime, standby allowance and access to a pool/liveried vehicle.

This role requires you to be on site 5 days a week, with travel to other operational sites as and when required.

About the role
As Site Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all plant and equipment on your nominated site. This includes managing permission documents and maintaining compliance with safety standards, legislation, and company procedures.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage the safe setting to work of all activities in line with Safe Control of Operations procedures, driving a culture of safety and compliance.
- Authorise permission documents, undertake incident investigations, and carry out safety and technical inspections.
- Maintain accurate operational records, including log entries, to ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission network.
- Contribute to the development and review of emergency, security, safety, operational, and environmental plans and procedures.
- Act as Incident Controller and Site Main Controller during planned and emergency situations, ensuring security operations are monitored and controlled.
- Protect all plant, systems, and equipment on site, including monitoring third-party work and authorising routine and non-routine procedures.
- Assist with routine maintenance activities on Compressor Station, Pipeline, and AGI systems to optimise performance and maximise asset reliability.
- Participating in a standby rota once fully trained, typically 1 week in every 4 or 5, dealing with various faults.
About you
You'll bring strong operational and maintenance experience within a relevant engineering discipline, along with a proactive approach to safety and compliance. You'll be confident in managing complex systems, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical infrastructure.
Key requirements & experience
- Proven maintenance and operational knowledge in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or operations disciplines
- Experience in maintenance, fault diagnosis, and rectification within your discipline
- Understanding of equipment installed in hazardous areas
- Skilled in operating and controlling work within Safe Systems of Work
- Appreciation of systems and equipment across multiple engineering disciplines within Oil & Gas or similar process industries
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislative requirements
- Strong understanding of plant and equipment control, including compressor units and high-voltage electrical drive machinery trains, and safe isolation/decommissioning processes
- Relevant training certifications and/or evidence of competencies to support your knowledge and experience
- Full UK car driving licence
Security clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
