About the role:

We’re looking for a Utilisation Manager to lead and optimise operational performance across the East of the UK. This is a strategic role that ensures the effective use of resources, high standards of safety and strong financial and asset performance. You’ll play a vital part in shaping regional operations, providing insight, oversight and direction across multiple disciplines.

You’ll be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams including scheduling, dispatch, cathodic protection and training - ensuring all work is efficiently planned, executed and aligned with regulatory, financial and operational requirements. A key part of the role will be managing performance data and producing insightful reporting to drive improvement across OPEX, CAPEX and workforce utilisation.

Working closely with planning and delivery teams, you’ll ensure that long-term plans are translated into effective, on-the-ground action. You’ll also support project forecasting, customer connections, regulatory compliance and contract management - identifying risks and implementing solutions that ensure performance and safety are never compromised.

As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office working in Peterborough (and other sites across the East region) and home working. You'll need to be able to travel into the Peterborough office and other sites across the East region approx. 3 days a week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong, data-savvy leader with a background in operational delivery and team leadership. If you’re passionate about continuous improvement, enjoy cross-functional collaboration and have a strong grasp of regulatory and commercial environments, we’d love to hear from you.

What we're looking for:

Essential -

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and standards
  • Experience in maintenance scheduling, asset management and system utilisation
  • Understanding of risk, project and contract management
  • Skilled in financial forecasting and reporting
  • Knowledge of lean and agile methodologies
  • Understanding of high-pressure gas transmission assets and infrastructure
  • Full UK car driving licence

Desirable -

  • Hold a HNC level (or equivalent) qualification in a project management, engineering or planning discipline or equivalent experience in gas transmission, utilities or energy systems

What we can offer you:

An annual performance bonus of up to 15% of your eligible earnings in the performance year
28 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays - option available to buy extra holiday days
Company car
Generous double-match pension scheme - for every £1 you put in, we'll add £2 (max company contribution 12%)
Flexible benefit scheme, including private healthcare, dental insurance, technology plans and more
Financial protection with 10x salary death in service and financial support if you're unable to work due to long term illness or injury
Excellent family friendly provisions - maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave
Career progression, professional training and development - including access to LinkedIn Learning
Employee assistance programme offering free confidential professional counselling 24/7
Financial support to help you cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions
