Senior Project Manager - UK-wide - up to £70,000 + Company car

About the role

As a Customer Connections Senior Project Manager at National Gas Services, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of customer connection and infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

 

This is a key leadership role where you’ll manage a team of project professionals and contractors, oversee a capital budget of up to £20 million per year, and act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll play a vital role in shaping the customer experience and ensuring that every project aligns with our safety, environmental, and regulatory commitments.

 

You’ll lead and embed a positive safety culture across your team, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You’ll also provide first-level assurance across all project activities and ensure that safety is at the heart of everything we do.

 

You’ll manage the full project lifecycle—from initiation and planning through to execution and closure. This includes developing project execution plans, managing resources and budgets, and ensuring robust risk and quality management.

 

Customer engagement is a key part of the role. You’ll act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations managed throughout the project journey. You’ll also work to continuously improve the customer experience and deliver value for money.

 

You’ll provide accurate and timely reporting on project performance, including SHE metrics, financial forecasts, and milestone tracking. You’ll also contribute to the development of internal tools such as the unit cost library and support commercial positioning on scheme delivery.

What we are looking for

You’re an experienced project leader with a strong background in construction or infrastructure delivery. You have a proven track record of managing complex projects and portfolios, ideally within the energy or utilities sector, and are confident working within CDM and HSE regulations.

 

You’re a strong communicator and team leader, capable of managing both direct reports and large contractor teams. You’re also commercially astute, with experience in financial forecasting, cost control, and value engineering.

 

Qualifications in health, safety, and environmental management (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH), engineering or project management are desirable but not mandatory.
