Ready to shape the future of major infrastructure? Join National Gas Transmission as our next Supply Chain Manager  with our Major Programmes team and lead the way in delivering high-impact projects.

 

As a Supply Chain Manager for Major Programmes, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of some of the UK’s most complex and high-value infrastructure initiatives. Your expertise will drive strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and project delivery, making a tangible difference to our business and the communities we serve.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies for high-value, high-complexity projects.
  • Managing end-to-end strategic sourcing events: from market research and supplier identification to tendering, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Ensuring all supply chain activities comply with policies and procedures, and implementing mechanisms for continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing project management for major construction projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, positioning National Gas as a client of choice.
  • Driving cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance initiatives as part of a centrally coordinated programme.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Staying ahead of industry trends and sharing best practice across teams.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and a natural collaborator, able to build trust and influence at all levels. Your proactive approach and commercial acumen mean you thrive in fast-paced, complex environments where you can make a real impact.

Key requirements & experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a strategic sourcing or supply chain professional, with a track record of delivering results and continuous improvement in commercial settings.
  • Strong understanding of construction supply chains and contracting, including NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrable project management skills, with experience leading strategic sourcing projects from inception to completion.
  • Advanced stakeholder and supplier management, negotiation, and commercial skills.

 

Desirable:

  • Degree Qualified in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering (Or similar)​
  • MCIPS Chartered Status.
