Quantity Surveyor - 12 month fixed term contract

£53,500 to £62,500 plus:

• Up to 6% annual bonus

Warrington or Glasgow

You’ll be based from either our Warrington or Glasgow office, depending on your location. This is a hybrid role, requiring at least three days a week in the office or on site. Travel will be required between our Warrington and Glasgow offices, along with visits to sites and depots across the North and Scotland.

About the role

We have a 12‑month fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the successful delivery of complex construction projects. You’ll provide strong commercial and contractual expertise, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality and governance standards.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage and administer multiple contracts across a defined project portfolio
• Provide commercial support to Project Managers, procurement and site teams
• Manage financial performance, including cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Lead and support tender evaluations and commercial negotiations
• Manage contractual risk and support the ongoing development of risk registers
• Lead dispute resolution activities, providing clear professional advice
• Ensure accurate commercial and financial records are maintained in corporate systems
• Work collaboratively with project teams to identify efficiencies across the project lifecycle
• Produce clear, timely reports and keep stakeholders informed of commercial issues
• Support and mentor other Quantity Surveyors and Junior Quantity Surveyors

About you

You’ll be a confident commercial professional with experience working on large‑scale construction projects. You’ll bring strong contract management capability, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to provide clear, professional advice to a range of stakeholders. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities and supporting teams to achieve the best commercial outcomes.

Key requirements & experience

Essential

• Proven experience working on construction projects (large‑scale project experience essential)
• Strong contract management and commercial management capability
• Experience managing costs, forecasts and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 & NEC4), including Options A, C and E
• Experience supporting tender evaluation and commercial negotiations
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience within utilities or regulated environments
• Chartered member of RICS or CICES
• BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
• Experience with NEC Two‑Stage ECI
• Previous experience managing or mentoring Quantity Surveyors
