System Operations is responsible for operating, controlling and monitoring the Gas National Transmission System in real time, making gas available when and where our customers across Great Britain need it playing an essential role in keeping Britain’s homes warm and its industry moving. We also facilitate the efficient operation of the GB gas market.

As the Access Development Analyst, you will develop systems and strategies which optimise performance against capacity obligations and incentives and provide a great service to our customers.
Working within the Development sub-team, you will support the development, testing and implementation of system changes required to reflect regulatory change and deliver process improvements.
You will work with the Auctions and Strategy sub-teams to progress system changes that deliver stakeholder needs efficiently. You will support the Markets team in understanding system impacts and requirements as the GB and/or EU capacity regime develops.
Working with service providers, you will ensure sufficient context is provided and options explored that deliver optimum system solutions, whilst building their understanding and strengthening relations.
Key to this role is identifying and supporting opportunities to increase efficiency across the capacity team through system solutions. Consideration of associated costs, risks and alignment to the National Gas Values and Strategic Priorities will be necessary throughout.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working on the development, testing and implementation of system changes. Your positive and creative attitude to change will enable you to identify impacts and secure the necessary engagement.
You will be a logical, creative, and practical thinker with the ability to structure and articulate complex problems and have some experience in identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
You will be comfortable in taking a methodical approach with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and the desire to develop strong, effective customer and stakeholder relationships, which build trust and influence outcomes.
