About the Role
Working across multiple engineering disciplines and asset types, you'll translate strategic objectives into robust investment plans, support key business decisions through engineering and economic analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and the UK energy system.
What You'll Do
- Translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable asset investment plans.
- Support the development of future asset strategies, including initiatives linked to the hydrogen transition.
- Undertake whole-life cost analysis and engineering justification to support investment decisions.
- Develop robust business cases and evidence-based proposals for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, regulation and operational teams to optimise investment decisions.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance asset management capability and maturity.
- Communicate complex investment decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About You
You're a strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex challenges and influencing decisions that have long-term impact. You thrive in collaborative environments, can engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and are comfortable balancing immediate priorities with longer-term objectives.
You'll bring a combination of analytical capability, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear investment recommendations.
Essential
- Engineering and/or Asset Management experience.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to evaluate long-term investment requirements.
- Experience developing or supporting investment cases and evidence-based decision making.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
- Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams and disciplines
Desirable
- Understanding of gas transmission assets, plant and equipment.
- Experience within a regulated industry environment.
- Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis, engineering justification and investment planning.
- Experience of whole-life cost analysis.
- Degree-level qualification in an engineering, science or numerate discipline, or equivalent experience.
