About the role

As an Assistant Investment Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal part in developing and sponsoring investment projects that drive our strategic asset objectives forward. Your work will transform high-level asset strategies into clear, actionable project scopes, ensuring we meet regulatory commitments and financial targets.

Working within our Major Programmes division, you’ll be at the heart of delivering business plans through evidence-based investment proposals and cross-functional teamwork.

What you'll be doing

• Developing well-scoped, funded projects with clear deliverables, aligned to RIIO T3 regulatory agreements.
• Engaging with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on time.
• Preparing and presenting briefing materials and reports for a range of audiences, from project teams to senior leadership.
• Leading meetings to provide visibility into portfolio progress and foster stakeholder engagement.
• Ensuring full delivery of assigned projects, always keeping strategic and financial objectives in focus.

About you

You’re a natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Your strong communication skills and proactive approach mean you build relationships easily and keep projects moving forward.

Key requirements & experience

• Engineering or Asset Management background (HNC or higher, or relevant experience).
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills.
• Programme or project management experience.
• Commercial acumen and a keen eye for aligning projects with business goals.
