Credit and Invoicing Specialist, Warwick (Hybrid) – c. £55,000 plus benefits
About the role
National Gas Metering maintains and manages around 5.2 million domestic, industrial and commercial gas assets across the UK, enabling homes and industry to access the energy they need safely and reliably. National Gas Metering supports new connections and maintains existing installations.
As Credit and Invoicing Specialist, you will possess expertise in invoicing, accounts receivable, debt recovery, and revenue assurance. This role is key to driving efficient processes that maximise revenue and cash collection. This is a highly visible role in the Metering business, where you will build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders; ensuring accurate billing, timely payments and resolve queries with confidence.
Working closely with the Credit and Invoicing Manager, you’ll help safeguard revenue integrity, optimise cash flow, and maintain robust financial controls - while championing continuous improvement across business operations and stakeholder engagement.
In this role, you will:
• Deliver accurate invoicing and timely revenue collection, ensuring smooth monthly billing and reconciliation.
• Maintain strong financial controls aligned with our internal policies and audit requirements.
• Manage revenue, trade receivables and advanced payments to support effective financial performance.
• Resolve complex invoicing issues and disputes, providing clear guidance and solutions.
• Ensure data integrity for billing and revenue-related information to support accurate collection and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and auditors to maintain service excellence.
About you
• Qualified, part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CA) or equivalent experience (5+ years in a relevant finance role).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven track record in revenue management, invoicing, and cash collection within large, complex organisations—experience in utilities is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial processes, including revenue recognition and trade receivables.
• Demonstrated ability to drive solutions and contribute to high-performing, collaborative teams.
• Strong analytical skills with experience turning complex data into actionable insights.
• Familiarity with financial and IT control frameworks, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
• Experience with embedding new systems and process changes, while ensuring confidence and integrity of information.
• Experience with systems such as Maximo, ServiceNow, SAP, and Coupa is advantageous.
