ER Complex Cases Specialist – Warwick, hybrid – £50,000-£55,000 + bens

 

A great opportunity within HR as part of our central Employee Relations (ER) Complex Cases team, for an experienced ER Specialist to provide high quality timely case management support to complex cases i.e. professional guidance, risk-based advice, coaching and training to Line Managers around sickness absence management, disciplinary / code of ethics, grievance, performance improvement, discrimination, bullying and harassment, drugs and alcohol and death in service.

About the role:

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provision of a customer-focused, visible and timely professional service with delivery against all aspects of Case Management
  • Ensure consistency and efficiency in the application of ER related policies - coaching managers, setting and updating policy providing central coaching and steer to the wider HR team and HRBP’s
  • Preparation and attendance at Disciplinary Appeal hearings
  • Supporting and coaching managers in handling complex sickness or absence cases, performance improvement cases, DBH / grievance investigations, DIS, and drugs and alcohol cases
  • Deliver related learning and development / up-skilling programmes to champion ER best practice through delivery of policy & practice awareness sessions
  • Involvement in collective bargaining matters, policy working group and pay negotiations when required
  • Foster positive working relationships with our trade unions (TU’s)

 

About you:

 

You’re an experienced Employee Relations Specialist (or HR Generalist who wants to specialise in ER), able to manage complex ER cases and provide timely professional advice based on best practice, policy and current legal guidance.  You have experience of facilitating and managing multiple complex hearings and case work, up to and including dismissal.  You have a minimum of CIPD L5 qualification and a strong understanding of external good practice i.e. ACAS requirements.  If you have experience of working in a unionized environment, this would be highly regarded.
