About the role:
An excellent opportunity to join our hugely talented Finance team as a Finance Risk and Controls Specialist - to provide 2nd line advisory services to the business. You'll support the design and delivery of the annual 2nd line assurance plan, drive the risk and controls maturity programme, develop and implement of a strong risk and controls framework, and provide guidance, oversight and challenge to the business on their risks, controls and processes.

Key accountabilities:
You'll be a crucial part of our Finance Risk & Controls team, key responsibilities being:
- 40% project management, 40% technical execution role and 20% stakeholder management
- Support in delivering the Risk and Controls transformation programme
- Support the review and simplification of the internal control’s framework
- Support the delivery of the annual management test plan of financial controls
- Interface between external audit and the business and support remediation activities as required
- Facilitate risk-based discussions to help the business identify, assess, record and manage risks and controls (financial, operational and compliance)
- Support the business with the identification of key risk Indicators and where required support the investigation of any divergence from agreed thresholds/limits
- Perform regular risk assessments and support horizon scanning
- Perform regular reviews of our risk and control matrices (RACMs)
- Assist in the provision of risk and controls training for the business
- Support the remediation of control weaknesses/deficiencies or non-compliances
About you:
Your proven experience in financial risk and internal controls/ audit is backed by membership of a professional body (e.g. CISA, IIA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICM, CPIM or CPM). You have a strong understanding of finance processes and experience in dealing with financial risks and controls within the 3 lines of defence (preferably the 2nd line). You have delivered compliance in line with IFRS and FRC standards, understand Enterprise Risk Management, and can critically assess and map business processes, risks and controls.

- Salary circa £55-58,000 DOE
- Annual bonus of 6% based on personal and company performance.
