As a crucial part of our Financial Reporting team, the Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for consolidating the financial data of National Gas Transmission and its group entities. The position demands strong problem‑solving skills to ensure the accurate and timely production of Annual Reports and accounts and completing month end tasks.

Key accountabilities:
Most of the role will be focused on the consolidation of the group financials, working closely with General Accounting, Tax, Treasury and wider finance teams to ensure all financial results are fully understood, validated, and accurately reflected.
In your role, you are responsible for the integrity of the data reported, in particular:
- Identify and post monthly consolidation/ elimination journals.
- Actively contribute to the month-end group consolidation process, ensuring financial statements are accurate, complete, and validated.
- Delivering timely and high-quality reporting is shared with FP&A and wider finance team.
- Preparation of the end-to-end annual statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and delivery within required deadlines.
- Acting as a key contact for external auditors, fostering strong working relationships to ensure queries resolved efficiently and timely.
- Supporting the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of accounting papers on technical issues.
About you:
- You’re a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACA, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA), ideally with post-qualification experience in consolidations, group accounting, financial reporting, financial accounting or audit. We will consider a first time mover from Practice.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, data manipulation and analytical techniques).
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with practical experience applying accounting standards.
- In person we’re looking for a team player, someone who enjoys building relationships (as this position is customer-facing both internally and externally), detail orientated, timely, organised and eager to learn and progress
