The Head of Data & AI is a strategic position responsible for overseeing the management, governance and utilisation of data & AI across the National Gas business.   This pivotal role will spearhead our data-driven transformation, fostering continuous innovation, ensuring data-driven decision-making, and future-proofing the business by leveraging emerging trends in AI, machine learning, data automation, and real-time insights to ensure our competitive advantage in the energy sector.

Key accountabilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with National Gas's business objectives and regulatory requirements. 

• Be the AI champion in the business - Lead the development and deployment of AI and machine learning models to enhance business performance 

• Lead the data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organization. 

• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal policies. 

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in data management practices. 

• Work closely with IT, security, and business units to align data initiatives with organizational needs. 

About you:

• Proven experience in data leadership roles, ideally within Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) or a regulated industry.

• Strong understanding of data governance and management.

• Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and exceptional communication skills.

• Exceptional stakeholder management, comfortable operating at Board and C-Suite level, strategic thinking, and governance capabilities.
