As our new Head of Indirect & IT (Information Technology) Procurement you will be accountable for the total performance of the Indirect and IT portfolios, setting direction and championing supply chain excellence. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our business experts and suppliers you will drive overarching category strategy to deliver business objectives, value and to champion sustainability.
You will have the responsibility of leading the Indirect and IT Procurement team, setting direction, establishing and maintain high standards of output, and creating a culture of change and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in driving performance, service improvements, and cost efficiencies while ensuring alignment with sustainability commitments. As the Head of Indirect & IT Procurement, you will be accountable for all procurement activities for these categories, including the development of strategies, management of the end-to-end supply chain, developing innovative sourcing strategies, and building strong supplier relationships to support our business today and in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and provide direction to the category team to deliver high levels of performance and excellence across all procurement activities. Coach and develop the team to fulfil their full potential.
Accountable for the Indirect and IT portfolio, including ensuring the development and implementation of value adding strategies for Indirects and IT categories aligned with National Gas’s goals and objectives.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and develop an ethos of working shoulder to shoulder with our internal teams as value adding partner. Seek to understand their needs and challenges and develop solutions to progress the business.
Monitor supplier performance and drive Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management and Contract Administration / Reporting for category. Identify areas for improvement, embed a culture of engagement and collaboration with suppliers working to “place our supply chain at the heart of what we do”.
Continually track the supply market, keeping abreast of developments, trends, risks and opportunities, ensuring we are are continually engaging with existing and potential suppliers and preparing mitigations.

Passionate self-starter, resilient, tenacious under pressure and a driver of change to deliver value and optimal business results.
Excellent demonstrable experience in leadership and management with the ability to motivate and inspire the team to achieve goals and continuously improve.
Strong relationship skills, demonstrable ability to engage and influence in a complex multi-stakeholder environment and build effective relationships with supplier partners and industry peers.
Excellent and demonstrable category lifecycle skills, including knowledge of all aspects of category strategy, strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management processes.
Demonstrates relevant Indirect and IT expertise and / or evidence transferrable skills and knowledge.
Can demonstrate an ability to think creatively to solve ill-defined and complex sourcing and supply challenges whilst keeping in mind compliance and risk management.
