IT Operations Centre Gas Analyst – Warwick/Hybrid - up to £60,000

As our new IT Operations Centre Gas Analyst you will be part of a team providing 24x7x365 system health & proactive monitoring of the application, database, operating system and server infrastructure supporting National Gas systems in the UK, you will be key to ensuring that the systems meet their SLAs, acting as informed contacts for system and infrastructure incidents on a 24x7 basis and engage with the business, control room, vendors and suppliers of services that underpin the overall support of National Gas systems.

About The Role

 

Your role will be to underpin the support of the critical business processes which are key to the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Gas Transmission network in the UK. Ensuring that incidents which could lead to a loss of systems, which subsequently impact upon National Gas ability to operate in compliance with license conditions are prevented. 


You will be accountable for the safe, efficient and reliable monitoring of National Gas systems in the UK, and work with stakeholders to ensure that any changes made are in the best interests of keeping the system reliable, resilient and will not impact upon the criticality of their operations, the role will also include supporting audit and security initiatives to ensure that support operations are compliant with policies and standards expected of National Gas systems.


You’ll act as a centralised contact point for IT, the business and third party organisations, both in and out of hours, you will be required to participate in Incident and Problem Management, working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, driving issues resolution and root cause analysis, ensuring that processes are adhered to, provide knowledge resource for future design and development of the National Gas estate.


This is a hybrid role based in Warwick HQ for day shifts and home for evening and weekend shifts, and the closing date for applications is 18th March 2025.

 

About You

 

  • Experience of supporting mission critical systems with a good knowledge of system technologies, monitoring tools and processes in a 24x7x365 support environment
  • Highly skilled in appropriate technology and monitoring systems
  • Superb operational background with experience in analytical thinking
  • Influencing, teamwork, presentation skills, and ability to explain technical issues to support staff, management and the business.
  • Relevant industry certification (e.g. ITIL, MS) highly desirable
  • Experience working 24x7x365 shift patterns
