Investigation Specialist - Warwick (Hybrid) - £46,000 to £55,000

About the role:
In this critical role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all safety and health investigations, playing a key part in our ambition to be Safe Every Day and supporting our journey towards a proactive safety culture.
Reporting to the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Manager, you will take ownership of the Tier 1 Incident Reporting and Investigation Standard, ensuring that processes, templates, and guidance remain aligned with the latest legislative requirements and industry best practices. You'll lead and support incident investigations across the business, ensuring they are thorough, evidence-based, and consistently identify true root causes. Your work will help drive meaningful improvements by developing appropriate remedial actions and ensuring that lessons learned are effectively shared across the organisation.
Beyond investigations, you'll play a key advisory role, supporting regulatory reporting requirements and working closely with internal teams and external bodies. You'll also conduct benchmarking exercises, helping to ensure that National Gas Transmission remains at the forefront of safety and investigative excellence.

As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office working in Warwick and home working. You'll need to be able to travel into the Warwick office approx. 2-3 times a week.
What we're looking for:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant health and safety discipline
- Demonstrate a high level of safety experience and clear legislative understanding
- Clear understanding of root cause analysis and remedial action development
- Clear understanding of behavioural safety and fair/just cultures
- Professional membership with a recognised body (ideally GradIOSH)
- Stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Full UK car driving licence
