This is a unique and interesting opportunity for a fully qualified Lawyer to join our exceptionally talented General Counsel team, to provide expert, pragmatic and commercial legal advice across all areas of the business. You will have significant responsibility and autonomy in your decision making, including advising senior management on significant strategic business decisions.

About the role:
Supporting a team of seven qualified Senior Lawyers, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of legal areas including Health & Safety, Contracts, Construction, Regulatory, Property and HR. Responsibilities will include:
- Provide expert, relevant and risk-based legal advice across a wide range of complex, high-profile and strategically significant matters to the Board, and Executive Leadership Team
- Identify, evaluate and mitigate legal and reputational risks in relation to strategic matters including contracts, regulatory compliance and governance
- Proactively maintain awareness of evolving business needs, with a deep commercial understanding of the business operations, objectives and strategic drivers to anticipate potential legal needs and risks
- Advise on corporate governance obligations to ensure best practice and legal compliance
About you:
You are a fully qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a valid practicing certificate, and proven experience managing complex, high value legal risk and understanding of how to manage it within the business. You can assess complex legal risk and provide pragmatic solutions; translate complex legal issues into easily comprehensible information for the benefit of key internal stakeholders and provide advice and suitable recommendations.
In person, you are a confident communicator with gravitas to advise senior stakeholders and liaise with both internal and external lawyers. You can manage competing priorities and work collaboratively; a strong eye for detail; and sharp negotiating skills. You enjoy building and sustaining relationships and influence at all levels across the business to establish credibility, and have a strong emphasis on working to deadlines and maintain stable performance under pressure.
