Network Modelling and Performance Analyst - Warwick (Hybrid) - £45,000 to £63,000

System Operations is responsible for operating, controlling and monitoring the Gas National Transmission System in real time, making gas available when and where our customers across Great Britain need it playing an essential role in keeping Britain’s homes warm and its industry moving. We also facilitate the efficient operation of the GB gas market.

About the role

As a Network Modelling and Performance Analyst, you will lead and take part in Gas Network simulation and probabilistic modelling analysis to ensure the Gas Transmission System continues to transport energy to our customers safely and reliably across a range of timescales.

 

You will lead the development and prioritisation of investment and commercial proposals against a range of financial, regulatory and commercial incentives. In addition to this, you will be involved in the delivery and audit of simulation studies of the National Transmission System to deliver a range of business requirements.

 

You will develop operational strategies to ensure that safety is maintained and customer requirements are met, in real and close to real time. You will develop operational strategies to deliver access to the network to facilitate maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned.

 

You will follow industry-agreed processes to assess and facilitate connections to the network and consider a range of future forecasts and scenarios to develop future strategies for the network, including asset and non-asset solutions.

 

You will lead the maintenance and development of off-line models for use within relevant network analysis teams, analyse supply and demand data and develop tools and processes to populate and analyse network simulations.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will be comfortable and confident in documenting and communicating the results of Network Analysis to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

 

You will have excellent numerical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate and articulate complex information to a variety of audiences.

 

We use SIMONE to conduct our analysis, which we recognise is a specialist tool which we would not expect you to have prior experience using, training will be provided. Experience with MATLAB, Graphical Falcon or other modelling software is certainly transferable and advantageous along with programming and/or coding experience.
