We’re seeking a detail-orientated and reliable payroll advisor to join our talented in-house payroll team, who are responsible for delivering two accurate and timely monthly payrolls. This position requires precision, discretion and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulation and processes, to ensure our employees are compensated accurately and on time, whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and policies.

About the role:
- Payroll Processing – Shared responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing of two payrolls for approximately 2,200 employees.
- Systems – Highlight and raise any discrepancies and changes throughout the full flow of information between ADP, SAP SuccessFactors and other systems.
- Year-end Processing – Assist in the requirements of tax year-end including both Statutory and non-statutory reporting, P60s, P11Ds and both Payroll and other audits.
- Data Management – The collation, verification and input of payroll data received from across the business. This will include various schemes and frequencies of additional pay and absence related data.
- Compliance – Statutory payroll calculation and action for payments and deductions. Ensure all payroll practices comply with legislation and company policy.
- Reporting – Prepare reports and reconciliations needed within the team and for the wider business as required within a timely manner.
- Issues Resolution – Provide investigated, detailed responses and resolutions to internal and external queries while ensuring a very high standard of customer service through communication in line with SLAs.
- Record Keeping – Maintain and safeguard payroll records and employee records ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Pensions – Update pension changes in the system, reconcile values and create third party payment schedules.
- Benefits - Update benefit changes in the system, reconcile values and create third party payment schedules.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities and make suggestions to improve and streamline payroll processing efficiencies.
About you:
You have genuine passion for payroll and strong attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply both internal and external policies accurately and efficiently. Driven by continuous improvement, you take pride in contributing to a high‑performing team that delivers outstanding customer service. With experience across both in‑house and bureau payroll environments, you are a collaborative and supportive colleague. You communicate confidently and clearly at all levels, providing precise, well‑considered information, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
Essential:
- Extensive in-depth payroll experience
- CIPP Foundation level qualification (or working towards)
- Understanding of HMRC requirements including RTI, FPS & EPS, Tax, NI & taxable benefits
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivots, v-look ups, formulas)
Desirable:
- ADP Globalview and SuccessFactors experience
- Bureau Payroll experience
