As our SHE Manager for Major Programmes, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our projects not only meet but exceed health, safety, and environmental standards. Your leadership will drive a positive safety culture, safeguard our people, and help us deliver on our business commitments.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and inspiring a team (12) of Safety and Environmental Advisors, providing strategic direction and fostering best practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Managing SHE risks by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across major projects.
  • Investigating incidents thoroughly and ensuring effective follow-up actions.
  • Delivering training and development programmes to build SHE capability across the workforce.
  • Monitoring performance through robust metrics and reporting to senior management.
  • Championing sustainability by integrating environmental principles into project planning and execution.
  • Engaging stakeholders at all levels, acting as the primary point of contact for SHE matters.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement in SHE practices across the organisation.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and a natural leader, able to inspire teams and build strong relationships. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail mean you’re always looking for ways to improve and innovate.

Key requirements & experience

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
  • Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Extensive experience in health, safety, and environmental management within construction, engineering, or related industries
  • Strong background in capability development, change control, data analysis, design management, governance, assurance, legal compliance, project and portfolio management, risk management, and testing/verification

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
