We have a fabulous opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join us to manage the control of the security function's budget, including assisting in the development and forecasting of budgets, reconciling variances and preparing financial reports.

About The Role

 

The Security function delivers security to the whole of National Gas and as such operates a substantial budget that is both routine operational run the business budgets but also project allowances through Price Control Deliverables as issued by OFGEM. Both of those budgets require careful management to ensure draw down is done in line with company polices on delegations but also that robust budget controls are in place.  

 

This role’s purpose is to set, monitor and control the drawdown of the CISO’s annual budget and to set their annual budgets with the Security Finance Partner and manage the CISO’s period, by period forecasting.

 

This is a hybrid role based between Home and our Warwick HQ and Sites, and the closing date for applications is 27th June 2025.

About You

 

  • Superb understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (experience in SAP S4 Hanna an advantage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to meet deadlines and work 
  • Experience in the security industry beneficial, but not essential
