Senior Capacity Auctions Analyst - Warwick - £46,085 to £56,000

System Operations is responsible for operating, controlling and monitoring the Gas National Transmission System in real time, making gas available when and where our customers across Great Britain need it playing an essential role in keeping Britain’s homes warm and its industry moving. We also facilitate the efficient operation of the GB gas market.

As a Senior Capacity Auctions Analyst within the Gas System Operator (GSO), you’ll play a key role in enabling energy to flow across Great Britain and to and from the EU.

 

You’ll support and develop capacity arrangements that allow customers to access the pipeline capacity they need, while leading a small sub-team responsible for delivering capacity auctions that generate around £900mn annually.

 

This is a high-impact role where you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate and grow your leadership skills. You’ll contribute to the development of the commercial and regulatory framework for the next regulatory period (RIIO-T3), helping to shape system, legislative, and code changes that support a more efficient and sustainable energy network.

 

Your strong analytical and communication skills will be essential. You’ll gather, interpret, and present complex data clearly and persuasively, using your insights to resolve operational and commercial issues and influence future capacity arrangements.

 

You’ll also be encouraged to challenge existing processes and propose improvements - we'll be keen to draw on your previous experience and fresh ideas.

 

Although this role has no direct reports, you’ll guide and support a team of two, providing direction, managing workloads, and helping to build capability and resilience within the team.
