Procurement Senior Category Manager (Compressors) – Warwick (hybrid) - c£65,000 - £75,000 DOE plus benefits
As a Senior Category Manager you will set the category strategy for Compressor Stations Machinery, (Infrastructure, Gas and Electric Turbines, Controls and Instrumentation), lead key strategic sourcing initiatives within Category and overview supplier performance in business-critical infrastructure arenas. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you’ll manage supplier relationships, drive value, efficiency and manage supply chain risk but also help the business develop our 3 molecule strategy (Methane, Hydrogen and Carbon capture) by accessing supply partner innovations and best practice.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead in the development of procurement category and sourcing strategies for Compressor Stations by analysis and insights to drive value (across cost, quality and supplier performance).
- Track the supply market, keeping abreast of developments, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Manage assigned categories and lead higher value / higher complexity sourcing projects within scope of the assigned categories, including identification of potential suppliers, market research, production of tender documentation, management of RFx timelines, supplier evaluation and negotiation.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers that deliver continuous improvement, innovation and longer-term value.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, ensuing suppliers meet agreed KPIs, quality standards and delivery requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement, including innovation, risk management, industry best practice and integration of ESG considerations.
- Work closely with central and regional teams to ensure that activities align with purchasing strategies. Implement cost-effective purchasing strategies while ensuring compliance.
- Work closely with Regional Supply Chain Teams to gather category insights and understand regional challenges and requirements.
About you:
You’re an experienced procurement professional (ideally with recent Construction, Infrastructure, Utilities experience in a regulated sourcing environment) with excellent proven experience in strategic sourcing - such as strategy development, category spend analysis, sourcing processes and supplier management; plus continuous improvement initiatives and delivery of results. You’re detail-orientated with understanding and adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements; and can define requirements, source plan, and manage the competitive bidding process. A strong professional relationship builder, both internally and externally, and a drive for continuous improvement will ensure your success in this role.

- Salary: c£65,000 to £75,000 dependant on experience
