About the role

As a Senior Technical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the core functions of the Operational Liaison and Business Delivery team - namely customer liaison, information provision, and compliance. You’ll help ensure our operations run smoothly by supporting key processes, handling data queries, and maintaining high standards of service and delivery.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll act as the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that customer and data queries are resolved efficiently and within agreed SLAs. Your ability to deliver exceptional customer service and collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and IT suppliers will be key to your success.

You’ll also provide essential administrative support to the team, assisting with event management, communication strategies, and management of online documentation. You'll play a central role in delivering key industry communications, monitoring data compliance, and overseeing the data triage process—ensuring all data requests are handled in line with Ofgem guidance and internal procedures.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a highly organised and technically capable individual who brings both energy and expertise to the table. You’ll have a strong understanding of the physical and commercial operation of the National Transmission System and be confident navigating the regulatory and commercial frameworks that underpin Gas System Operations.

Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential, whether you’re liaising with subject matter experts, working alongside IT suppliers, or supporting internal stakeholders. You’ll be someone who naturally builds strong relationships, brings clarity to complex topics, and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service.

We value those who are curious, analytical, and solution focused. You’ll have strong planning skills, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and a keen attention to detail when working with data or documentation. You should be comfortable managing competing priorities, using Microsoft Office tools with confidence, and picking up new systems quickly as our environment evolves.

This role also calls for someone who can take ownership, whether that’s coordinating key communications, ensuring compliance with data publication obligations, or managing requests through our Data Triage process.

If you enjoy variety in your work, thrive in a collaborative setting, and are motivated by the impact of well-managed operations, we’d love to hear from you.
